Barundi is a small, rural village located in the heart of Punjab, India. The village faces many challenges when it comes to education. While the community is rich in tradition and culture, it has long struggled with limited access to modern educational tools and resources. Barundi’s government school, which serves the local children, has been grappling with outdated teaching methods and infrastructure. This has resulted in a lower quality of education, leaving many students with fewer opportunities to succeed and progress in their academic and professional lives.

Our Contribution & Impact

Recognizing the urgent need for change, Tej & Sukh Sekhon Foundation stepped in to provide support to Barundi’s government school. The foundation has long been committed to improving education in underserved communities, and Barundi was no exception. One of the most significant contributions to the village’s education system has been the introduction of Smart Classes—a modern, tech-enabled learning environment designed to provide the students with the resources and education they deserve.

This change has allowed students to access digital content, including educational videos, interactive lessons, and online resources, bringing learning to life in ways traditional methods could not. The foundation has also trained the teachers to integrate these new tools into their lessons, ensuring that the children receive the best quality education possible.

Tejinder Sekhon firmly believes in the transformative power of education and has dedicated himself to providing opportunities for children and young adults who face financial hardships. Through Tej & Sukh Sekhon Foundation, he has sponsored the private education of numerous children from nursery to high school, ensuring they receive quality learning in some of the best private schools in the region.

Recognizing the challenges faced by young girls in pursuing higher education, he has also supported many in achieving their degrees, empowering them to build brighter futures. His primary focus has been on children who have lost their fathers or whose families struggle to afford education due to financial difficulties.

Through his continued efforts, Tejinder Sekhon is not only providing education but also fostering hope, independence, and a better tomorrow for those who need it most. His unwavering commitment to education reflects his deep-rooted belief that knowledge is the key to empowerment and change.
