Lighting Up Lives: Tej & Sukh Foundation’s Mission in Kenya
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela
In rural Kenya, education is a distant dream for many children living in poverty. Schools lack basic infrastructure, proper classrooms, desks, and learning materials. Yet, the spark of hope and the determination to learn remain alive in the eyes of these children.
Tejinder Sekhon and Sukhvir Sekhon from Tej & Sukh Sekhon Foundation visited schools in Kenya to support these underprivileged children. Their mission was simple yet impactful—helping those in dire need of moral support, educational resources, and a better future.
Bringing Hope Through Action
The foundation’s team worked closely with local schools to provide critical supplies, including books, stationery, clothing, and food. The donation drive was aimed at easing the daily struggles of students and teachers. Tejinder and Sukhvir personally engaged with the children, spreading joy and motivation.
Understanding the Challenges
The visit also involved detailed discussions with school management to assess the needs of the schools. From outdated facilities to the lack of essential utilities, the challenges were immense. Yet, the resilience of the children and the dedication of their teachers painted a picture of hope.
Moments of Connection
Beyond material aid, the foundation emphasized personal interaction. Spending time with the children, listening to their stories, and sharing words of encouragement proved to be a powerful way to uplift their spirits.
