Kalahandi, a region in Odisha, India, has long been known for its struggles with poverty, malnutrition, and inadequate healthcare. Many villages here lack access to basic medical facilities, and thousands suffer due to the absence of proper healthcare and nutrition. For generations, the underprivileged in Kalahandi have battled not just economic hardships but also preventable diseases, hunger, and extreme living conditions.

Understanding the urgent need for medical assistance and nourishment, Sekhon Foundation has taken a step forward to bring health, food, and support to the people of Kalahandi.

Our Contribution & Impact

1. Kalahandi Hospital Support – Many in Kalahandi cannot afford proper medical treatment, leading to suffering from easily treatable illnesses. Through our initiative:

• We provide financial assistance for medical treatments, medicines, and emergency care to the underprivileged.
• We organize free health check-up camps, ensuring that villagers receive professional medical attention.
• Our volunteers personally visit the hospital wards, offering comfort and emotional support to patients and their families.

2. Food Donation & Village Support Movement

• We set up food donation camps, ensuring that malnourished families and children receive nutritious meals.
• Our team spends time working alongside villagers in their farms, helping with buffalo herding, ploughing, and daily labour to understand their struggles first-hand.
• Beyond donations, we focus on empowering poor farmers, providing them with agricultural resources and guidance to improve their livelihood.
• We believe in spending time with the poor, listening to their needs, and working together to bring long-term solutions beyond just financial aid.
